My brother works in the fitness industry so I asked him about the vibrating platform. He hasn’t tried it, but he explained the concept is simple. The vibration makes your stabilizers work to balance yourself when you’re just standing there. Even though the adjustments your muscles have to make against the vibrations are small, they are constantly worked. Since it’d be difficult to impossible for you to work them as efficiently, this training method seems very appealing, especially adding in some other compound movement. That rationale plus the seductive infomercial-laziness factor of the “2 minute abs” equivalent makes me want to at least find one and try it. Unfortunately they don’t seem to have trickled down from elite sports teams or research facilities to any mainstream facilities and the reviews of the home versions say they’re way too loud and not that great.
