At first, this article sounded like one of those scientific studies that just tells you something everyone already knows – exercise is good for you. Duh. Good thing we poured research money into determining that. Well it then mentioned big words I didn’t understand like “mitochondria” and “gene expression profile”.

It looks like weight training improves something to do with mitochondria, which has something to do with apoptosis which has something to do with programmed cell death. So basically the training seems to help you “stay younger” longer. The article wonders about endurance training’s effects. Of course I wonder about neigong’s effects. This all does seem to come back to “duh” but it would be nice to hear some more results from more scientific studies.
